Debbie Petfield, 4’s Teacher

Hi my name is Debbie Petfield I’ve been married for 35 years and have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. I have been working at Little Sparrows Nursery School for 21 years. I love working with this wonderful staff as we teach these children academics and the love of God. The best thing about teaching is when I get to see the looks on the children’s faces when the lesson clicks and they “get” what we are learning about.

Meet Our Assistants

Lori S

Meet Our Director

Lori Lofaro, Director

Lori is a wife and mother of three. She attended Iona College where she received her BBS and also has her CDA in Early Childhood Education. Because of her love for Health and Wellness, she graduated from the Institute of Integrated Nutrition as a Certified Health Counselor. I believe in teaching by example. Being kind, patient, consistent and respectful toward others. I also believe that as a teacher you need to become a detective. Every child learns differently and it is so important to find the learning style that will encourage and build that child’s self confidence. For me, the best part of teaching young children, is that you never know what the day is going to bring. Children are giant sponges and they love the adventure and excitement of learning new things. I love to see the expressions on their faces when they have that special “AHA” moment. You can actually see the wheels moving around in their heads. I love to challenge those little minds with an array of questions. This is what I call “Exercising the Brain” and what creative brains they are! I became a teacher because…..I Love children! I love their energy, silliness, fearlessness, honesty, laughter, smiles and heartfelt hugs!
